I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy my vacation, but one thing I’ve missed since moving to Jamestown is watching a Green Bay Packers game with other die-hard Sconnie fans like myself.
I had the opportunity to do just that in Eau Claire, Wis., while visiting an old friend from college.
The downtown bar was called The Firehouse and it was not over crowded. It had one bartender who did a great job and the bar featured 28 different beers on tap.
I was in over my head, but I did try something called a Dogfish Head, something from Lucette, something good stuff from Belles, and of course The Spotted Cow.
Not only was the beer delicious and plentiful, but there were real Packer fans. I’m talking the ones who clap for first downs, cheer loudly when there was a score of sack and pound on tables or the bar when excited. I thought I was the only one like that left. Best of all there was not one Eagles fan in the bunch.
Come this Saturday night, I’m sure the place will be rockin’ again.
If you ever got a night to kill in Eau Claire hit this place up, for a hop head like myself it was the real deal.
