Maybe readers know this about me and maybe not.
I occasionally have been known to get up and sing some karaoke.
Now the conditions have to be perfect, much like that George Clooney movie, “The Perfect Storm,” that also starred Marky Mark.
Typically for me to take the mic I’m going to need a nearly deserted space and access to my preferred jam.
Finding the perfect karaoke song can be a challenge and it took me a while before I settled on “Soul Man,” by Sam and Dave.
I can also rock David Bowie’s “Ziggy Stardust,” but that requires the right crowd. By right, I mean an empty crowd.
It’s also wise to never sing REM’s “It’s the End of the World,” or “Semi Charmed Kind of Life,” by Third Eye Blind. Oh the mistakes I have made.
One time however I cleared a place when I sang “Purple Rain.” I was let back in under the agreement that I never sing the song ever again, anywhere.
This is why I rejoiced when I found this video of Mark Cuban, billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks, churning out the Prince classic.
The sad thing is I’m pretty sure he has me beat.
