Goodman’s ‘City of New Orleans’

Wait, what?

That’s right Arlo Guthrie did not write the “City of New Orleans,” in fact it was Steve Goodman.

Goodman a two-time Grammy from the Windy City was a mentor for John Prine, who I know at least one potential reader greatly enjoys.

He also got himself through college by singing advertising jingles.

Pretty cool story for a guy from Morton Groove, Ill.

Enjoy the tunage and let me know if you think it holds a candle to Arlo.

(This kind of goes along with one of my last posts, about a dude who really likes trains)
